We had a fantastic Anniversary this past weekend. It started on Friday night when we left and went to the Rexburg Temple we thought we were going to be late but made it in time to attend the 6:00 p.m session. We had reservations for a king sized bed at the Motel 8 after that but had given up our room so we were able to get the Suite and it was very nice for $60. The next morning we went to JB's and had the buffet and it was great. Left there went to Driggs where we spent the next two nights.
We had rented a basement of a house where the only thing that separated us and the family that owned the place was a curtain. It was set up very nice and the size of it is going to be comparable to our new property tiny cabin. We went to the place to settle in and they were not home so we left our things and went CC skiing where the Tetons were in the clouds and stormy weather. The temp was warm and as we continued to ski and it got colder and the snow become ice and I was pretty much hitting the ground.
After about 3 hours or about 3.5 miles of that we ended up back and bought a few groceries so we would not need to do this on Sunday. Our host family were LDS so we found out what time Church and where the building was located and attend .Church Sunday. We held scripture study together and that is what the talks were centered around on Sunday. It was great!
Back to Saturday evening we drove over to Jackson Hole and it was boring to say the least. We walked around for awhile and checked a lot of shops whos prices were outlandish and to rich for our blood. The drive over was insane. Terri drove and it was crazy slick and snowy over the pass going and coming. It snowed a total of about 4" inches on us in the time we were there. Sunday afternoon we watched the Red Neck Horse pull the skier races, it was cute.
This morning we got up cleaned up and ate breakfast in Driggs.. It was good. We decided due to the fog and temp to drive home and go CC ski the property and what a great move that was. We where in at 1 and a half hours and out in 50 minutes. We had hiked in the week before and it had snowed another foot or more since then.. Going in I sunk about a ft to ft and a half.. Coming out in our same tracks made it a ton easier. Duke was home so we took him with us. He is worn out from belly jumping since it was so deep but he loved it. Thus we came home glad we had made that choice, if our cabin was finished we would have gone there instead. I love Terri! Great 35 years hope to go another 35...
