Quite an experience the past few days. We rang bells for the Salvation Army for a couple of one hour slots, we went to the Aid For Friends camp out and sought out people to support us with donations (which I do not like to do). Our children supported us well. After setting up our card board home we had a soup dinner provided by one of the local troops. We sat around a fire barrel, went and listened to a local group play for us and they were pretty good. Very talented. We then went and sat around a fire and talked and met more people. It was an eye opening experience. We did have two actual transients come and eat with us. One stayed the night, the sleeping quarters were tight but we slept warm. I did set us up away from some of the people.. I wanted to sleep. We were up at 6:30 a.m. and had our camp taken down and put away. We felt this was a very good experience. We were supported well by our children and friends. We were able to collect around $1200 dollars in support of this activity. Home by 8:00 a.m. to get ready for our Sunday meetings.
