The past two weeks have been filled with 1650 miles of travel. We left Aug 10th for Wisconson to West Allis to visit Cody, Jess, Kevin and Julia. A look at the home they have purchased and are moving into in the next several weeks. On the way home we made stop at Columbus, Neb. at the the Phelps home and went to dinner with Cody. (Kristina and Grayson were in SLC attending a wedding.) The next stop was to Denver to visit my folks and brothers. Timing was perfect as far as distance inbetween drive times. While there in Denver, Mike changed the oil in the diesel truck for us. We arrived home Wednesday night late. Terri worked long and hard thur. & fri. The week finished today with a visit to Ogden to look at the house that J.D. and Ashlynn are looking at buying. This is the kitchen and as you can see the discussion is based on the changes that are desired. You may want to start at the bottom and work up.

Here we are on the journey home. Jordin was listening to the portable DVD player.. I think... you make your own assumptions on what she may be up to. The kids were great the entire trip. It was long and we had few problems.

Dad arrived home having just served in the Temple. All of the brothers and most of their family came over for a great dinner and visit.
We stopped at the Phelps home to have dinner, watch a movie and spend the night. It is a very nice apartment. There was another picture that I was going to post but it looks like Cody has his tongue in my ear so it was nixxed. When we arrived to their apartment the door was open and about $500 dollars laying on the counter. A note from Cody telling the family we were welcome to anything (money?) and for Uncle John to not touch and break anything.!! Thanks alot Cody!
Here is the little Kevin man sporting his church suit. His sure looked good!
Here are a couple of pictures of Julia! She is a wonderful quiet mild mannered baby!
While at the Park.. I cannot remember the name, Julia slept, while others played in the water and the sand. My leg was hurting so I pretty much stayed on the lawn with Julia.
Everyone took turns being buried in the sand. Notice Cody on the far side of the kids.
I didn't get many pictures of Cody. He is mostly out of site on this picture as well. Kevin had fun in the sand.
We went to a local resturant named Oscars, they had great burgers and custard shakes.
While there were attended a Brewers game. They hit 3 hommers in the first inning. I had to have help getting to the cheap seats. I agree with Cody it is great having a brat at the game. The tailgate parties looked great! I hope to go participate at some time in my life.
While waiting for Cody to round up a wheel chair for me we took this pic. In the backbround you can see the Harleys that are above the Harley Davidson box seats. It was fun. Not pictured is the Harley night near at the Harley museum. I didn't have my camera. There were over 700 motorcycles at that event with a band and dinner served.
Here is a picture of the Harleys in front of the Harley Headquarters. Cody said that there were about 600 bikes on the premises for training. It was a neat experience Cody took us on the tour. I really enjoyed it.

We spent one afternoon swimming and playing at the apartment pool.

Here is a pic of a corn field. It was a beautiful drive through the states getting to Wis. Great looking clean farms, barns, and silos. We stayed pretty much on I-80 getting to West Allis.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn while the truck was being repaired. It was expensive but the kids were able to swim several times and included a great breakfast.
Dinner the night before was a walk by these 3 over to Burger King. It was a good evening despite the set back.

Here is the answer to our prayer. I took this picture after our prayer. The Dodge broke down in rush hour traffic in down town Omaha and would hardly run. I called Mike, he said to get it into a repair shop and get it on the diagnostics computer. We had a prayer here at the end of this mall parking lot, opened our eyes and this guy drove up with a new Dodge pickup, driving slowly by our side and parked in front of us. He gave Terri directions to the repair shop about 10 miles away of which the motel was about a half mile away from the Dodge repair shop. We were set back only a few hours. This was truly a testimony that prayers are answered. The trip leading to this point consisted of a late start Monday night once Terri finished with work followed by an overnight stay in Rawlins, Wyo. then driving all day. When we broke down it was 5:30 p.m. in Omaha.
