Here is a picture of SJ and myself during our short break from canning pears. I was thankful for Tessa and Alyona and their help. G-pa and G-ma were about worn out. Mom had helped can peaches on Wednesday and directed us over to help.
Here is the result of our efforts. We canned 117 quarts of pears.
Here you are looking at the head bottle stuffer. G-pa personally filled and packed all of the bottles with the pears and sugar water.
Here is the head kitchen Foreman LaNae! What a slave driver. We barely had a minute to stuff down a McDonald's double cheese burger.
Alyona took all of the pictures. (Thanks) here is Tessa, between the girls they pealed 5 1/2 bushels of pears. They were greasey little suckers. Every now and again one would jump out of your hands. We had a few good laughs. Mom, Blake, Jordin, and myself went over Saturday and finished up another 50 quarts. That's a lot of pears!
