Well this was a great trip to Lake Powell. A BIG Thanks goes out to a few people who made this happen. To my siblings and their kids, I say thanks for making this a fun family get together. To my little Bro Robert for sharing a week of his time on the Seabreeze house boat and providing the stress free environment. To my Father and Mother for each year making the effort to come and for getting in the water which is not an easy task for them. To my daughter Tessa and her family for caring for our home, mowing the lawn and seeing that it did not die.
Blake is displaying some of the toys that came with the boat we purchased for our trip to LP. Not pictured are both the single and double tubes.
Not long after departure to Lake Powell these two were a sleep. It was about an 8 hour drive.
I had no problem staying awake on the way down, Mom is taking a pic of miss Jordin and myself.
Here is proof that mom was there as well as a pic of Jordin's feet.
This was the scene most mornings after breakfast or just after lunch. This was prior to both the morning and afternoon water festivities.
Here is David showing the boats and jet skies in tow behind the house boat.
Here is dad at the helm he takes the boat out and brings it back in each year.
Here is your hostess'ss Becky and Kari. They provided much of the meal preparation. We did eat too good and too much!
Blake and the push-up competition. He didn't do to bad!
Robert taking a turn on driving out, he is on the upper deck. The breeze was good temps all 7 days were between 88 and 102 degrees during the day time with 60 to 75 degree nights.
The tow rope broke so Ty and Josh jumped in and brought the boat back up in and we were on the way again. We went 21 miles down the lake from Bull Frog.
Here is a pic of Ty and Alyona out in the new to us boat. It is a 97 Bayliner 4 cylinder in / out board.
Here is a typical night time sleeping pic. It was about 11 p.m. when I shot this. Blake was wiped out from the boarding and tubing.
The mornings were just awesome! The Bros were all up by about 5:30 a.m.
Here is a pic of our set up. The water level last year was 30 ft higher.
This gives you an idea of our camping spot. There were 2 other houseboats in the nearby 6 mile radius. Plenty of water area ski room. Note the little mound out there in the water. We swam to that it was about 400 yards away. That is where the sun fish nibbled on my thigh several times. It mad me yelp, or as Ty would say "scream like a little girl".
This is what Alyona had to wake up too each morning. Nice do Ty!
One morning I was getting ready to get in the water and came in and found all my kids knitting?
Look ma no hands!
Morning time after the bathing hour.
I enjoyed this each day!
Talking with Jordin after we both jumped in.
Ty picked up on wake boarding and the knee board right away.
Me doing what I like to do best.... drive!
After returning from boating Terri and I found the rest of the extended family practicing for the 2016 water sync water olympics. They were actually pretty good!
Morning conversations while cooling off.
| Dad and Mom |
Mom on top of the world. Literally!
Cousins taking a break listening to tunes and reading.
Me just before getting back in the water again.
The slide was a lot of fun! We used it to get ourselves in the morning water. Here is Alyona.
Blake using the proper form.
and... entering the water.
Mom and dad on the lower deck watching and listening to the conversations.
Here is the island we swam to.
Mom and her new found door stop that was a small representation of the canyon wall near our boat. It is currently propping open our laundry room door. Hit that with your toe and it will be over.
Kids later afternoon went and swam to the island. It is small in the pic until you take a pic of the kids next to it.
David prepping for more R&R.
We played games and talked each night.
Enjoyed good food, not to mention the prime rib and home made ice cream. We had many helpers helping give Mom and Robert advise. Dave is taking over, inspector #9 of the peach ice cream.
Blake showing off on the tube.
Ty showing a little air on the knee board.
It was a warmer day so we put up the orange flag and all jumped in.
Ty wake boarding.
My bro and me heading out to the distant waters. We went for an hour ride and talk. It was calm and pleasant.
You can tell that it was warm everyone was in by 2 p.m..
My lovely navigator.
Sun set on the last day. There are a lot of not shown pics. They still don't show the beauty and fun we had. I know that our thoughts and prayers were with our family that could not be with us. We missed you and hope to share some of these like fun times with you in the future. I took about 300 pics this trip so I spared you the details. We did have our share of mishaps or lifes tests. Getting home in the dark, fueling station being closed, port motor flooded, starboard motor wiring short, fuel tank not transferring, lost a bilge pump in Roberts boat had to replace. All was good and worked out for the better and we shared talents! Thanks also to Ty and his abilities to fix things. Later..
