The trail was on the other side of this rock.

We think we might bring the 5th wheel this direction and capture the other hikes in a two day stay.
Same picture as the one that Mom was in. The ski pole was a good addition for the up and down climbing on the trail.
I had lunch up in this cut out while mom hiked up a bit further at Spot #18 on the map.
On our way back this was pretty awesome. I took about 60 pictures and mom was starting to get bored with with the whole thing.
I do love her and enjoy the time or date we had today! All of you kids take good care of your spouses, mine takes such good care of me that I almost hate going to work. We love you. Tomorrow is Father's Day but as I hiked today I thought about how each one of you mean so much to me and to us, I wish you could have been here. We talk about you all of the time and hope all is well. I can't remember if it was J.D. or Ty that we came here with several times years ago...

Hiking the City of Rocks 6/18/2011
Today I went with Mahonna to the City of Rocks to plan the 4th year YW hike. Her initial plan was shot due to the cold spring and summer we are experiencing, there was still too much snow in the mountains. We left home at 6:45 a.m. this morning to plan the hike and it was fun, we started down the trail at 8:30 a.m. I figure we covered a little over 6 miles. Our hike finished at 12:30 p.m. and then we drove to Lake Walcott to check our timing for the event. All went well. This was actually the last picture taken after the hike. When I take a self picture, I never know what I will get or end up with. Well, here you see it. Yes, please don't let the last picture of the day spoil the next few pictures

We started off the hike with mom taking pictures of every wild flower we saw. Yes there were many. I did not Blog them.
It was nice hiking weather. The scenery was breath taking.
Lots of little hiding places as we walked through the areas.
The trails were well marked and in excellent shape. We covered 4 different hikes out the web site search.
There was about a little over a mile of open country, the rest was in through trees and around rock, lots of it.
Your mom is in great shape. For having had the accident two years ago and my other knee replaced last September I made it in better shape then I thought. My muscles were sure sore though.
One of the many pretty places we walked through.
